Barbara George

Barbara George was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world after an extended illness at her home on July 3rd, 2023 at the age of 59.

She was born to Edward and Jackie Carrier on August 18th, 1963. After high School she attended beauty school in Florida. Later she married Troy George on January 19th, 1995. Together they had four children and seven grandchildren.

Barbara loves spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family. She spent her time in the service of others. She helped with the Wounded Warriors Project, served as a class mother for numerous years at various elementary schools throughout the parish, and counseling grieving parents, she was larger than life with a giant personality and an even bigger heart. She helped anyone she saw that was in need. She never met a stranger. And she lived life to the fullest, no matter what Troy said! She enjoyed a shot of tequila now and then and always was, "The life of the party!"

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Troy George Jr. (Hoss), her parents, Edward T. Carrier Jr. and Jackie D. Belgard Carriker, and grandparents, Edward T. Carriker Sr. and Mamie Ann Rabilais Stafford (Nanny).

Loved ones left to cherish her memory or her son, Dillan Carriker Sr. of Alexandria, Brandy Spann Glenmora, Sonya George, (Kelly), of Grayson. Sisters: Carolyn Gillette, (Billy) of Dry Prong, Joni Burgess of Dry Prong, and Jeannie Lachney, (Robert) of Wardville. Seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

July 22, 2023 - 2 P.M. to 4 P.M.
