In loving memory of Elvis Eric Duke
August 20, 1972 - January 14, 2024
Elvis Eric Duke of Bentley, LA passed away from heart complications on January 14, 2024, in Alexandria Louisiana. His courage and faith in Jesus Christ gave him the strength to outlive a diagnosis of six months to one year by nearly two years. Facing each day with a smile and hope until the end.
Elvis was born on August 20, 1972, and lived life as only he could. He was a talented artist and enjoyed simple acrobatics, drawing, artwork, writing songs, and poetry. He enjoyed riding and repairing bicycles and was considered one of the top roofers in Central Louisiana.
Elvis is preceded in death by his grandmother Theoria Cooper Cupp her husband Melvin Cupp, his grandfather, Barney Lewis, grandparents Myrtis Norwood Bilbo and Henry Bilbo, and stepson Brandon Jarreau.
He is survived by his parents, Bonnie Lewis Bilbo and Hardy Bilbo, brothers John Duke, and David Bilbo, and sisters Vicki Bilbo Clinton, husband Travis Clinton and Darla Bilbo Tradewell, husband Tony Tradewell. His wife Lisa Vaughn Duke, their sons, Taylon Jarreau and Destin Duke, and her children Cassie Poole, Summer Jarreau, and Peyton Jarreau. His sons John Melandez, and Eric Melandez, and their mother Gina Melandez Parker along with friend Kim Hutto and many loved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Bentley Baptist Church in Bentley, Louisiana on January 20, 2024, with visitation at 2:00 p.m. and service at 3:00 p.m. The date for a casting ceremony for the immediate family will be determined later.
