Mitchell (Mike) was born to Jonas and Cecelia Harris, with ten others born to that union of marriage. Mike was baptized at the age of eight by the late Samuel L. Buckner at the New Pilgrim Baptist Church, Alexandria, LA, serving in many capacities in the church: a junior deacon and choir member and in helping in
custodial duties. After high school, Mike joined the United States Marine Corp. He later became a master mechanic. Mike received his call from God to proclaim the gospel, was licensed and ordained.
Mitchell married and had two children and two special nephews that were like sons:
Lance Proshee and Avery Jonas Williams. Mitchell (Mike) and Terence of Alexandria. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and loving wife, Carrie Mae Williams, and three brothers, John 1. of Pineville, LA, Anthony and Jerry of Alexandria, LA Six sisters: Pastor Sandra A. Williams, Beverly Lee (Jerry) of North Carolina; Katherine, Patricia, Karen Proshee, and Constance Johnson, all of Alexandria; Six Grandchildren and one most endearing aunt, Mariah McGinnis of California. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
