Vandy Williams (III) Obituary

Psalms 23:4 :

"Yea, Though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I

will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they

comfort me."

On August 17th 1990, lightning flashed, and a star was born. Vandy La'Parker Williams III, AKA, "Trey" was born to Rebbie Jones and the late Reverend Vandy Williams Jr. Trey accepted Christ at the age of 7 and was baptized at the greater St Lawrence missionary Baptist Church by Reverend Roy L. Lott Sr. Trey participated in the choir and was active in Sunday school. He also regularly attended greater Live Oak, pastored by Dr. James S. Hardison Sr.

Trey loved to play the drums and he could be spotted playing the drums at any church within the community. He was educated in the Rapides school system and was a 2008 graduate of CENLA Christian academy. He also attended bossier parish community college and Louisiana State University of shreveport, Louisiana. Trey received a call to the ministry and preached his first sermon in August of 2017. Trey worked in the healthcare field, professionally, and was a tennis shoe enthusiast. Trey, like both of his parents, never met a stranger. He was reserved, but outgoing. He was personable, a true jokester, and was always willing to lend a helping hand or his height to reach something.

Trey is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Vandy La'Parker Williams Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Rebbie Jones; siblings, Colonel Keith Williams (April), LaKisha Mosley (Houston, Texas), Felicia Jefferson (Fort Wayne, Illinois), Dianetta Garrett (Chicago, Illinois), Vance L. Williams Sr., Vadeisha Williams (Dallas, Texas), and Brekia Williams; as well as reared siblings, Artrinique Davion, Nathan Jones, Rosalyn Jones, and Dominique Jones; Aunts, Stacey Jones (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and Theresa Green (Wilbert, Jonesville, Louisiana); Uncles, Micheal Jones Sr., Reverend Ronald E. Williams (Osie), Reverend Carp Taylor Jr. (Jackie); and Godson, Amir Deshun Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and a myriad of friends.

: Family and Friends: :

Do not grieve for me, for now I am free,

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard his call,

I turned my back and I left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Task left undone must stay that way,

I found that peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.

Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I savored much,

Good friends good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me,

God wanted me now,

He set me free.
